Influencing factors of seal

Seals has the crucial affect to the operation of machinery.As long as one of the seals is not functional and will affect the performance of the of hydraulic or pneumatic machinery.

The most important factors affecting the seal：

1.Pressure :
The level of pressure will change with the length of the cycle.The higher the pressure,the greater the effect on seal performance,Material,speed,the gap between the piston and the cylinder, and the gap between the piston and the cylinder head. 

2.Surface characteristics :
The surface characteristic is defined by the value of the surface roughness RA.RA is the arithmetical mean of the surface shape deviated from the absolute value of the centerline.The values do not necessarily imply that the seal affects the surface condition.Because of the same roughness and different surface shapes can result in different series of wear on the seal.

3.Temperature :
It is difficult to describe the use of seal materials in the maximum temperature and minimum temperature.It is the results of comprehensive effects.The operating temperatures of the piston and the piston rod are different.It needs to distinguish the difference.Roughness of seal surface,pressure,temperature,material,speed will affect the sealing.
